Hi. I’m Saanvi and we are The Len(z).
I am a writer, an activist, but most simply, a frustrated high schooler. Frustrated about the lack of encouragement towards young artists, frustrated with the political climate of today’s society, and passionate about manifesting goals when the change wished for is not being enacted.
The Len(z) is born from a need to do more – to harness the power held in the fact that everyday headlines are the formative events that will come to embody our generation, that our work invokes conversations which demand to be heard. Student perspectives showcased through photographs, poems, and opinions create the lens held by Generation Z, and now more than ever, it is impertinent to to be seen.
With that, I implore you to submit your work, to share the word, to become frustrated and fight to be heard. I encourage you to explore who we are and what we have to offer.
I welcome you to the platform used to perpetuate passion through perspective.
I welcome you to The Len(z), but beyond so, I implore you to craft your own.

The reason why I decided to help start the Len(z) is because of the misinformation and polarized political beliefs I see spreading around on social media and in our daily lives. I noticed it a lot with people my age and I want to try to create a place where information and opinions can be shared in a way where everyone can learn. In an era where soundbites and news headlines seem to divide us, I hope through this platform we can become a more informed generation.

Hello! My name is Jessica Almonte and I am honored to be an artist for Len(z). I, like many people my age, find myself becoming frustrated feeing like my voice can’t be heard in this age of media overload. Len(z) is just such a beautiful platform for young activists to use their creative outlets including everything from poetry to photography to collages and everything in between. Us, our generation, are the people who will change the world. We are the last generation who will put up with bigotry and injustice. This newsletter has platformed so many amazing people and I am eternally grateful that she has given us the opportunity to speak or minds. I cannot wait to see where Len(z) will go and I hope you all enjoy!

Hi! My name is Naren Chikyal, and I’m a photographer and artist for Len(z). Through creating work for the Len(z), I hope to spread awareness concerning various topics that people may be misinformed, or simply unaware of. Art has the ability to present complex ideas and information in a form that is easily understood. It is important that we, as Generation Z, have a platform to share our perspectives on issues affecting the world around us. I hope that I am able to help myself, as well as others, grow politically and creatively through this platform.
